How to Tell If It’s Time to Get Dentures

Dentures & Partials Abington & Jenkintown, PAAs you age, you may start to suffer from a host of problems, including hair loss, bone loss, and even tooth loss. As one of the indicators that you are getting older, dentures are something that most people try to avoid. But, as a way to help preserve the rest of your smile, dentures are something more to embrace than anything. How can you tell if it’s time for you to bite the bullet and consider dentures as a serious option? Let’s take a closer look and see.

You Get Regular Cavities

If you are in our office chair every couple of months to have a new cavity filled, then it may be a sign that you need to get dentures. Sometimes, as you age, your teeth become a lot weaker and more prone to cavities, which can not only be a nuisance, but it can also be expensive as well. W/hen we pull your teeth and replace them with dentures, you won’t have to worry about the hassle of always having to get a cavity filled.

You Have to Get Teeth Pulled

Another reason why we may encourage you to get dentures is if you keep having to get your teeth pulled. If you have had to have several teeth pulled, then you will need to come up with a solution to fill in those missing teeth. Depending on your budget, your insurance, and what you want the outcome to be, we may recommend anything from dentures to a dental bridge. Whatever protein you decide to go with, it’s essential that you don’t’ leave those empty spaces empty because it can cause a host of problems including shifting teeth, crooked teeth, or even bone loss in your jaw.

You Need to Save Money

Although the expense of dentures upfront can seem like a lot, they can save you a lot of money in the long run; especially if you keep having to have cavities filled or teeth pulled. Plus, dentures are usually the more affordable dental prosthesis option.
