What’s Full Mouth Restoration?

This type of restoration is typically used to help preserve a patient’s overall oral health. During a full mouth restoration, we will reconstruct the teeth in both the upper and lower jaw by using crowns, veneers, dentures, and/or bridges.

Crowns are prosthetic teeth that are made of a strong, sturdy material to help replace damaged or missing teeth.

These thin shell share art made from either porcelain or composite and are glued on top of healthy, existing teeth after they have been sanded down.

Dentures are for patients who have lost all or most of their teeth and can be removable or fixed, and partial or full; depending on your needs and preferences. For people who have lost many or all of their teeth and are usually used to replace an entire arch of teeth.

Bridges are a short row of prosthetics that rely on the strength of surrounding teeth for support and stabilization. Bridges can also help keep surrounding teeth from moving into the open space where the missing tooth is.

Who’s a Good Candidate For This procedure?

The only real and definitive way for us to tell whether or not you’re a good candidate for a full mouth restoration is with a consultation and dental evaluation. However, for the most part, suitable candidates for this type of procedure include patients who have severely damaged or missing teeth from:

  • Decay
  • Injury or fracture
  • Acid erosion
  • Tooth grinding
  • Malocclusion

How Long Does It Take to Complete?

On average, patients will have to come into our office for multiple treatments that can span an entire year in some instances. During your initial consultation, we will be able to give you a better idea of just how long it will take.
